The CW Television Network, more commonly called The CW, is a television network in the United States that lunched during the 2006 television season. It is a joint venture between The CBS Corporation, owners of UPN, and Warner Brothers, majority owner of The WB. The name was derived from the first letters of the names of two of these corporations (CBS and Warner Brothers).
